Hong Kong Trip (Day 1) 13th April 2007, Friday

As soon as we arrive Hong Kong, we go to look for our tour guide in the waiting area. But our bus is not arrived yet. So, we ask a permission to go for our lunch in one of the restaurant nearby. Daddy is so hungry because on the plane just now we were only given a chicken pie. Daddy order a spagetti and mommy order a cheese baked rice.

After quite a long time nobody comes, so daddy goover to ask them about the bus. They say the bus go already and he can't find us just now. Anyway, we have to wait for the next bus. Wait, wait and wait..... Finally the bus comes!!

We hop on the bus and head to our hotel. Our hotel is the first stop because is far away from town but nearer to the airport. We just find out on the bus..... anyway, this is the first time come to Hong Kong. On the way, the tour guide introduce some of the building and scenery that we passby. Besides, he also introduces us a night tour which is tonight include our dinner. As our hotel is far from town and lack of time, we decide to join the tour.

As we arrive in our hotel, we check-in into a room. Hahah.... you know what mommy and daddy do? Mommy grabs the tv control and start searching for the tv programmes, daddy head straight to the bed and ready to take a nap. I'm so excite with the new environment and start crawling around to explore.
At about 5 pm, our tour bus arrive at the hotel basement. We hop on the bus and head to town to pick up the others who join the night tour. Tonight our tour guide is a girl and from the way she speak, we can see that she is not a local but married to a local. Daddy ask her a lot of questions about hong kong. She seems like don't really know about hong kong. Anyway, mommy try to take some photos along the way to the town. It is very hazy out there, every look so blur....

This is one of the Hong Kong University which located in town area.

The sunset this evening is so beautiful.....

After picking up all those who join the night tour, the first place we go is one of the restaurant that famous for their goose. That's our dinner for tonight. It is a very big restaurant, but seems like not a lot of people. Is it very famous???
First Destination: Roast Goose Dinner

Here it is.... The specialty, roast goose. The tour guide said, “You haven’t been to Hong Kong if you haven’t tried roast goose!” Well, it was extremely tender. And a bit too oily; geese should exercise more. And very savoury, though the salt gets to you after a while.

There are some other dishes like mixed vegetable, fish, prawn, meat and soup. All of them are quite tasty and feel worth it to join this tour. We have to be fast..... still a lot of destinations that we need to go tonight.

After the dinner, we go back to the bus to continue the tour. The next destination is the Victoria Peak. It is a mountain and the highest in the Hong Kong Island. The Peak offers spectacular views over central Hong Kong, the Harbour and surrounding islands, and is a major tourist attraction.
Second Destination: Victoria Peak

There's two major leisure and shopping centres, the Peak Tower and the Peak Galleria, situated adjacent to each other at Victoria Gap. The Peak Tower incorporates the upper station of the Peak Tram funicular railway that brings passengers up from Central district, whilst the Peak Galleria incorporates the bus station used by the public bus and green minibus services to the Peak.

There's a professional photography service here. They are using the high resolution camera to take the scenery for us. But quite expensive.... we pay about HKD 100 for the 5R photo and a CD.

Our camera really can't take a photo like that.

This the Peak Tower Shopping Complex. This piggy behind us is really cute and colourful.

The water fountain in front of the Peak Tower. Wow... it's really attracts me. So wonderful!!

Okay.... finish with the Victoria Peak. Now we are going to our next destination, which is Victoria Bay. We are going to take a ferry there to the Avenue of Stars.

We are now on the "Star Ferry". Its carry all of us across the Victoria Harbour, between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Avenue of Stars is on the other side.

Third Destination: Avenue Of Stars
Here we are..... Avenue of Stars!!! Going to start looking for my favourite palms.

This is Bruce Lee, but no palms here. Too bad......

Next..... Let's see who mommy go for! Oh.... It's Lin Ching Hsia's palms. The famous actress before. But mommy doesn't really watch her film before. Hahah.....

Now is daddy's turn..... See who he choose. That's Jackie Chan, very famous action movie actor. Will always come out with a new movie during Chinese New Year.

My turn.....my turn!! I touch Jet Li's palms. Hooray....!!! Also a famous action movie actor. I watched his movie before.

Can you see Bruce Lee playing Kung Fu behind us!!!

This time we don't pay for the professional to take the picture. But daddy take a lot of time change the setting and take a lot of photos. Fortunately, there's few photos are nice and clear.

There’s a great way to enjoy Hong Kong at night. The night tour include the Open-top Bus Tour that starts in Tsim Sha Tsui. The tour takes us along Hong Kong’s Golden Mile on Nathan Road and to Canton Road where you’ll be dazzled by the amazing spectacle of neon lights and glittering decorations on towering megaliths. We’ll hop off at the famous Ladies Market in Mong Kok and enjoy some great shopping. More than that, this tour is a great chance to see the bustling and dynamic streets of Kowloon.

This is the old apartments that we can see along the road.

Fourth Destination: Ladies Market
Ladies Market is one of the busiest places in Hong Kong. Its official name is Tung Choi Street. Despite its name, not only ladies’ products are sold there, even though it was once devoted to ladies’ clothing only. Ladies’ Street must not be missed by the tourist. Along the stalls, you will find mainly inexpensive items such as clothing for men and women of all ages, watches, accessories, bags, cosmetics, small household items and toys. The market gets its name because it is particularly well known for fashionable ladies’ clothing and is renowned for good bargains. It makes a popular shopping place for both locals and tourists.

We walk for about one hour along the Ladies Market. There's a lot of accessories that mommy likes and buy quite a lot different design too. Daddy buy me the Beckham jersey here. Hehe.....mommy hope I can play football like Beckham one day.

In the vicinity of Ladies Market, two other streets run parallel to Tung Choi Street selling sports goods (Fa Yuen Street) and consumer electronics (Sai Yeung Choi Street). A lot of Nike and Adidas here but we still think Taiwan is much cheaper and newer. We go to one of the electronic shop to buy tape for the tape recoder. Tape too much for the last few days in Taiwan, afraid it won't be enough for the Disneyland.

Lastly, we go to buy some snack for our supper before we take a taxi back to our hotel. Our hotel is very far and we pay about 80HKD to get back. So expensive....!!!
