I’m sick….

I feel so sad today because I’m having a fever. This morning when mommy woke up at 6:00am to feed me, found out that I’m having a fever. Immediately, mommy test the temperature for me and it is 38.6°C. Later on, grandma came in and try to lower my temperature by using wet towel. After a few changes, my temperature drop to 37.2°C. At about 7.30am, grandpa and grandma (mommy side) came to take me to see Dr. Patrick Ling. I was given paracetamol, cough syrup and also medicine for running nose.

Later in the morning, grandma came back from school and check me up. She was so worry about me and decided to bring me to see the an aunty who know about the Chinese medical. There, mommy and grandma were told that I was “ cheong” (a kind of sickness) because I’m exposed too much during the time when relatives came to eat “soh mee”. I was given another 2 packets of chinese medicine that need to be cook and a packet of powder which use to put it on gum and press it. It taste so awful… yeak!

My name....

Daddy found my name on the internet. It was "Bricen" which mean ambitious and the origin of the name is welsh. One of daddy's friend think that "Brycen" will look nicer. That's how my name come. But grandma prefer "Raphael" as my name because it is a christian name. After a discussion, they make up their mind to name me "Brycen" and "Raphael" will be use as my baptism name. Grandma will choose a chinese name for me. After I was birth, grandma took my birthdate to an old man which know about the feng shui. Then next day, they came back with a name "Jin Wang". I think all the names they chose for me will give me all the luck and prosperity in my life. I like it so much. Thank you....Grandma, Daddy and Mommy!

Yellow alert!

After four days at home, my grandma suspect me that I got slight jaundice because my eye and my skin look a bit yellowish. So the next day, my grandma bought me a kind of yellow powder which is used traditionally to cure the jaundice by mixing it into the water that I use to take bath. I’ve to take bath with it for 4 days in a row. Every morning, mommy will open up the window in the room so that the sun will shine on me. From what Dr. said, sun-tanning is good to cure the mild jaundice.

My birth story :

My due date was actually on 7th July 2006. After the due date was passed, I make an appointment with Dr. Patrick Ling to go for an induction on 14th July 2006 (7:30am). But on 12th July 2006 morning I started to bleed and had been having the contractions about every half an hour. So I went to my doctor for a checkup. So he did a cervix examination and find that I am only 1cm dilated. Then I was asked to go back home for some rest because it seems to be not that soon. So I went back home to wait and rest. By the time about 11:00pm, the contractions start to get worse and more frequently. I told my hubby about it, so he went to call his mum. But his mum said it wont be that soon and it’s just the beginning. After that, my hubby went back to do his work, while I’m just lying on the bed and bear with pain that came to me.
13th July 2006 - Thursday:6:00am : I try to call up my mum and told her about the pain.
7:00am : My mum reached my hubby’s home. I was told to have some breakfast (dumpling) before I go to the hospital. While my mum and my hubby’s mum prepare all those clothes, biscuit, milk powder and toiletries that needed.

7.30am : I reached Sibu Medical Centre. The staff brought us to the 1st floor.
7:45am : routine enema, CTG performed at triage8:00am : I was transfered to delivery suite Room 1, CTG monitoring continues... At that time, my contraction was about every 3 minutes.
8:05am : Midwife check cervix 9cm dilated.8:10am : Dr Patrick Ling came and the midwife prepare to break the waterbag.
8:20am : I was asked to push on contraction. He told me that he will try to do an episiotomy when necessary. After 3 pushes later, Brycen was borned (8:26am). When the baby is borned, it was a great relief because the contraction pain subside substantially.
8:30am : Dr Ling did some stitches.

By the time my hubby back from his breakfast downstairs, the baby was already out there to wait for him. So pity that we didn’t take any picture during that time and all of us didn’t expect to be that soon.

Then I was
